Since I was a small child, I’ve always loved snipping, pasting, colouring, drawing and sketching, sewing and being creative, so a launch into a career in interior design wasn’t a surprise for anyone who knew me.
After completing my studies, I decided to start out in residential design and landed a job designing fabulous spaces for clients with amazing budgets on the upper north shore of Sydney.
After living overseas for a few years, I changed tack and began working for large, well known architectural firms designing large scale residential projects, corporate office fitouts and retail design.
Then, in 2002, I took the leap that I’d always dreamed of … I hung out my shingle and opened Citrus.
Since then my team and I have had the pleasure of working with the most wonderful clients who more often than not trusted our talent and gave us free reign to design some truly special, individual and dynamic spaces.
Stepping into the world of Retail Design Critique has been quite a journey so far as we start a project from the ground up, working our magic with the support of shopping centre owners to achieve the best possible design outcomes for them.
The Design Team
The Citrus interiors team includes the immensely talented Debra Tomicic and Lesley Mockton who both have experience across all design disciplines.
Debra has a wealth of experience from conceptual design right through to the intricacies of on-site shopfitting and detailing. This knowledge has become invaluable in understanding and resolving issues on-site. Lesley has the knack for resolving difficult design issues with both the client, tenant and the designer, which always ensures we gain the best possible outcome for all parties to produce amazing results.
Sarah Lamond from Anomaly Design has been working with Citrus for the past five years. Sarah and Nicole met while studying interior design together over 25 years ago. Sarah is an amazing graphic designer who always comes up with the most ingenious logo and graphic design for our shopping centre clients and has a lot of fun with our fitout guide cover pages.
Kylie Richards keeps us on track chasing and counting the pennies.
